You marked your – 2.00 and – 1.75 both as OS….one has to be OD.

All you have are sphere numbers, so if your – 2.00 is OD then just put it in the space for OD Sphere and leave the other squares blank.

Then do the same with the -1.75 in the OS Sphere.

Leave all the other squares blank, they don’t apply to you, except the PD which you will need to know if it isn’t on your prescription.

Question by relztrah: Are there reading glasses with two diopter strengths in the lens?
I use 1.75 for normal daily tasks such as using the computer, cell phone, etc. But to read normal or small print I need 3.0. So, if I’m on the computer but need to read something on my lap at the same time, I have to put on TWO pairs of glasses, my 1.75 pair above my 3.0 pair. Then I look up through my 1.75 pair to see the screen, and down through my 3.0 pair to read what’s on my lap. You’re right, it looks crazy!

Hey, if we can put a man on the moon, certainly somebody can create bifocal reading glasses with 1.75 (or even 2.0) on top and 3.0 on the bottom. I have seen bifocal reading glasses, but they are clear glass on top and whatever diopter strength you want through the bottom lens. This is not what I want.

Any ideas? If I have to go to an optician, I will. But if I can just get a pair or readers that will do this, I would prefer that.

I have been wearing eye glasses for years and I always need a new pair every year or so. The coating on the glasses gets all scratched to the point where I can barely see out of them. My eye doctor told me it is the chemistry of my body making the coating wear away. I am not really 100 percent in belief with that. Any info would be great. Thank you. Also, is there anything I should keep in my glass case to help with the body chemistry thing?

I’m assuming you have anti-reflective coating on your glasses. Where you purchase them from should offer cleaning supplies. It’s best to wet the lenses with an approved solution (NO Windex!) and wipe them with a soft cloth. When properly cleaned the lenses should last at least a year if not longer. As far as the body chemistry thing goes, some folks do have sweat & such that tends to wear down the coatings on lenses & frames quicker than other people. Do you have problems with your frames as well?
